So where are the Loco's these days then Villain The only locos used around Old Oak and Padd these days are an 08 shunter and a few 57s for the overnight sleeper to Penzance, I think they're fuelled near the HST depot, everything else is HSTs or units. The glory days of Padd and Old Oak are well and truly over! Villain

Do you think that Motorail will ever make a comeback...?!
What with 'staycations' being so heavily pushed and promoted in this most tumultuous of times do you think we will ever see and age where the family (somewhat begrudgingly!!!) gets inserted into the family motor to explore more of the British Isles??
I think that if this kind of service was reinstated we would be able to enjoy a far more relaxed (maybe!!) holiday experience...
Do you think Motorail could ever return??!!

Do you think Motorail could ever return??!! From recent experiences, we need the Railways to return! Most train companies seem to be running a restricted timetable, many announcing that this won't change until the 2022 summer time table is introduced.
I never experienced Motor Rail, though remember it very well.
We used to visit family in the Channel Islands on the Ferry - of course, back then, it was Sealink - which was part of BR. Had many 6 hour trips to Weymouth, and then a slow treck through the streets behind a class 33 to reach the ferry!
With staycations being pushed - it'd be nice to see something like that. Though - many these days are in the attitude to jump in the car as it's (supposedly) cheaper and more convenient.
I heard a rumour earlier this year that the Railways were going to be taken back into public hands.... I expect that will be a far cry from the BR days.
