We have a tie for 1st place between Ringer and Abduction.
So we will have a play off for 1st place.

Ringer. A story that sums up everything that The Sweeney is about, with an excellent script to match.

Ringer would probably be my 'desert island' episode but I voted for Abduction. Ringer seems a little too familiar & 'by the numbers' to me whilst I think Abduction remains a powerful episode mainly due to Thaw's intense performance, combining rage & bitterness with vulnerability.

Ringer.I have always said that it could well be the ultimate Sweeney episode. It contains the best known line, three excellent villains-and one of my best lines from Francis Kemble:"This is the Sweeney,Mr.Prosser.You don't buy them".

9-5 so far. Surprising to me as Abduction was never one of my favs from series 1.

Ringer has a gang of villains, guns, a blag, the line about not getting any lunch because we're busy, a brawl on a building site, and Ian Hendry and Brian Blessed in the cast. I don't know what more folks can ask for in an episode of The Sweeney ?
