These five are probably my most listened to albums. Not mainstream but we all have different tastes. In no particular order. 1. Plastic fantastic. Flesh for lulu. 2. Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. The Sundays. 3. Nevermind the b***ocks. Sex Pistols. 4. Darklands. The Jesus and Mary Chain. 5. Immigrants, Emigrants and Me. Power of Dreams.

Hmmm I guess the only way to make this a tad easier is that it's the album as a whole. I dread to think how I'd cope with top 5 songs! These are probably the 5 I would grab if pushed. I'd want many, many more though.
1. Time Honoured Ghost - Barclay James Harvest - 1975 2. Wishbone Four - Wishbone Ash - 1973 3. To Our Children's Children's Children - Moody Blues 1969 4. Still Life - The Listening Pool - 1994 5. ABBA - The Visitors - 1981

Holy thread resurrection Batman But what a good one this is I like the recent additions from the members a good mix of styles indeed : Lordy, on the subject of live albums I must say I don't have any in my collection so will have to look some of those up for a listen. I find that when picking your favorite music, the choices will change slightly as time goes by. I find that some albums get rested for a while and others get brought back into favour. Now and then a new album gets discovered along the way. Cream were a notable newbie on my radar in 2019 and only just missed the cut. Looking back over this thread I thought I really ought to update my 2015 choices as picking two best of albums is just not cricket I do apologise My update features the five albums I've listened to the most over 2019 so therefore must be considered my top five favs. Abbey Road was given a fair few plays over late summer and Autumn due to it reaching 50 years of age. The rest of the albums found themselves appearing regularly on my playlists. My picks are in no particular order: I do wonder what 2020 will bring ? Got a feeling 60s to 90s will be the borders and that Parallel Lines will be in it somewhere

I can't help but feel like if any of us really liked anything from the 21st Century we would be in the wrong place! Some nice choices there, Del. I've got Heart 80s on at work as is the norm. I'm mostly alone on a Saturday with the agents just popping in to swap keys and things and I always get the "why are you listening to that? You weren't even born in the 80s". Yes, because I need a daily reminder . I can go for 60s or 70s but find I have to be more picky which, when it's a radio station, isn't exactly easy. 80s is the safest bet and 90s is alright in small doses. But anything since that and we are really talking about cherry picking a couple of songs a year if you're lucky .

But anything since that and we are really talking about cherry picking a couple of songs a year if you're lucky . I can certainly identify with that sentiment DI Drake. I get those kind of comments all the time. I grew up listening to 60s and 70s music that my parents played and loved that stuff. They stopped buying records in the mid to late 70s and didn't like punk or post punk new wave. I started buying my own singles in the early 80s. By the end of that decade I went mad for the electronic underground rave scene stuff and only really was interested in that. I didn't come back to popular music until the mid to late 90s thanks to bands like Blur and Oasis. I now feel the electronic music of my youth has not aged particularly well and although there are many great tracks I hardly ever listen to it now. My wife doesn't like a lot of it especially 60s and 70s and says I listen to my parents generations music. My kids love it to the point of buying some of the old albums on vinyl. The old bands and classic albums are forever finding a new generation of fans. When people question me for liking old stuff I don't feel bothered by it and feel its snobbery really. If a record is good who cares how old it is. They are the ones missing out for sure. I have an open mind to new music but its rare for anything modern to to be of the quality of stuff i generally listen to. The 50s to 80s music to me is like fine wine, it only gets better with age and can't be beaten.
