You are one good cameraman Gene I have to say that. What a sad story though. Regarding Bill Pertwee, what a down to earth grounded guy. Respect to him.
Tony must have been well on the downside of alcoholism by then though. So tragic.
Charles.

Hancock is one of my favourite actor/comedians. His delivery was brilliant, as the ordinary British bloke.
As stated earlier, a real pity he separated from Sid and Galton and Simpson.

It was a shame that Tony decided to spit from Sid and his brilliant writers. I'm sure he had his reasons, and his solo performances without Sid were fantastic but he shouldn't have ditched Galton And Simpson.
From what I've read Sid always hoped he and Tony would work again somtime, and he was a staunch friend to Tony during the time they worked together.

Yes Charles, he may have had perfectly good reasons. It just didn’t seem to work as well but that’s life. Sid was great , he wasted in the later Carry Ons, early ones were good and some of the ITV shows were a waste of his talent.

You know what? your'e right there Three Litre. Sid was wasted and he could have done a lot better work than he did, even though he was very successful. I'd never really though about it before. Spot on.

Spot on. Given the right material he could have made some classic TV in 70s. ITV made some rubbish comedy, IMO. CARRY ON CABBY (1963) Hattie Jacques, after she is given a fur coat: "Oh, it's lovely." Sid James as husband Charlie: "I'll say it is. Genuine mammoth, that is." Hattie: "Oh, don't be silly, Charlie." Sid James: "It said so on the shop window 'mammoth fur sale'."

Brilliant news that they're going to see a HD release but why do they have these bloody events on weekdays. It makes it too difficult for the majority of fans to attend when they have to travel into London after work.
Thanks for the news PP.
Gene.
