Wonderful clip Gene, and a terrific story from Graham who comes across as a great character in real life It was terrific hearing how they helped each other out in those days.
Loved it and looking forward to your next clip.
Charles.

Here is another clip from a video I shot at the Tony Hancock Appreciation Society Bournemouth Reunion event in 1994 (I retain ownership of this footage). For this years event we were joined by Bill Pertwee, Phyllis Rounce (International Artists Agent), Edward Joffe (Tony was staying at Edward's house when he took his own life) & Dennis Main Wilson (Former BBC producer for TV & Radio including Sykes, The Dick Emery Show, In Sickness & In Health etc). The following clip features Bill Pertwee, who I am sure need no introduction from me, apart from a brief list of some of the productions Bill was involved in. Suffice for me to say that he was one of the nicest people from showbiz that I've ever met. - Carry On Loving (1970)
- Dads Army (1968-1977)
- Carry On At Your Convenience (1971)
- Love Thy Neighbour (1973)
- Carry On Girls (1973)
- Worzel Gummidge (1979-1980)
- You Rang M'Lord (1988-1993)
Bill's anecdote on Tony in the following clip is a sad reflection on Tony towards the end of his life. Bill passed away in May 2013 aged 86.

Interesting to see that Gene, Bill seemed like a very modest man, I have a book he wrote on Dad's Army & he writes as if he were an observer rather than one of the performers.
I didn't know who George Fairweather was so I googled his name & saw this article on the previous year's event-

Yes, good old George Fairweather was in attendance regularly at these events back then. He was a lovely chap, very friendly and easy to chat with. I remember it was back in either 1993, 94 or 95, Bolly & I gave him a lift back to Poole (if memory serves correctly) and he chatted non stop the whole journey.
In the above clip you can only see George from the back (he is at the bottom of the frame just to the right of centre)

There's a Sky Arts programme entitled "Undiscovered Tony Hancock" available for download (broadcast December 20th) that some members may be interested in.

Here is a short clip for starters... This is a very rare clip of Tony Hancock playing cricket in Melbourne on the first week in October 1967. Also in the video you may recognise another very famous face of the time. Matt Monro. Good friends Tony & Matt were both working in Melbourne at the time - Tony at the Dendy Theatre and Matt at The New Twenties Nightclub. Both of them were staying at The Southern Cross Hotel at the time and they spent a lot of time together whist there. An interesting link for me personally is that Matt Monro, or Terry Parsons as he was then, served in the Armed Forces in Hong Kong while my Dad was also in the forces there. The video was very poor quality when I originally got it. I have made a slight improvement to it myself but it is still poor. Even so, it is extremely rare and a valuable moment in time caught forever. I've been in touch with Matt's daughter Michele for a number of years and more recently this week when I sent her a copy of the video. Gene. They showed this clip on the Sky Arts programme I mentioned, I hope you got your royalties.
