A heads up in case anyone hasn't seen- this 6 part series begins tonight at 9pm on channel 4. Clips such as Windy Miller's cider drinking antics, the Black & White Minstrels and some hilariously outdated views with commentary from people like Bill Oddie, Barry Cryer & Roy Hudd made entertaining viewing last November.

Is this a repeat then? I've got it set up to record but wasn't aware of it being on previously.
Sam.

The clips I mentioned were shown in the 2 part version of the show shown last year. Just seen that The Sweeney's "I could be arrested for what you were thinking" features in the first programme.

That's ok then. I thought it was maybe the unseen footage of the incident with Miss Lovelace's Pekingese!

Next week it's about the 1980s so maybe there's 3 shows for the 70s & three for the 80s as it's a 6 part series.

Well that was completely underwhelming. A lot of faux outrage by people at 70s tv things. The whole point of the Stanley Baxter Irishman joke was completely missed. They also said Legs & Co were named by the children of Blue Peter Why not do some proper research when putting these shows together ? I do think the Michael Parkinson questioning to Helen Mirren was out of order

Re Legs & Co., I had a look at their wikipedia page & it says this-
"For their first appearances, they were introduced as the "Top of the Pops" dancers, while their name was listed as "??????" on the end credits of three editions. The BBC decided to allow viewers to select a name for the new dance troupe via a competition promoted on Top of the Pops by Ed Stewart, after the girls made their dancing debut, and on the BBC children's programme Blue Peter. The name "Legs & Co." was chosen as the successful name. This was announced on the Top of the Pops of 4 November 1976,[1] with the competition winner in attendance, Elaine Coombes".
Would've prefered more comment from the 70s people as the 'did they just say that?' & gasps of disbelief from the younger commentators is overdone, but they're obviously copying 'Gogglebox'.
