Remembering John Lennon, who would have been 80 today. I paid a little homage to John when I visited the place where he lived and died. The Dakota on W 72nd Street in New York, almost exactly 36 years to the day that he was shot and killed as he entered the building. I took this photo in December 2016, which shows the archway where he was shot. Happy 80th John and Thankyou for the music. Gene.

Ronald Bell, one of the founder members of the soul-funk band Kool & the Gang - has died at the age of 68. The band's songs were huge hits in the 1970s and 1980s, and included Celebration, Ladies' Night and Jungle Boogie. Their music also featured in several films, including Saturday Night Fever for which they received a Grammy in 1978, and Pulp Fiction.
