RIP Ian Fraser Kilminster... goodbye Lemmy, you will be missed.
Saw Motorhead at the old Hummingbird in Brum back in December '89, we were stood right by the speakers at the side of the stage which gave me a pounding headache, Lemmy (mid song) saw me looking the worse for wear and came over to the corner of the stage, looked down at me and shouted ''alright mate?'', winked and launched into a mindbending bass solo. Top geezer!
My ears were ringing for days afterwards but it was one of the best gigs I'd ever been to.
Stevie Wright, vocalist with 1960s band The Easybeats, who had a big worldwide hit with 'Friday on my Mind' in 1966, has died aged 68. Much bigger in their native Australia than the UK, they were the Beatles and Stones rolled into one.
