Really looking forwards to tomorrow's episode of Wheeler Dealers. They are featuring a VW Corrado VR6 I've had a couple of these (both Storm models) and they are tremendous, albeit a bit of a money pit. To change the timing chains (around 100k miles) is a £1200.00 job as you need to drop the gearbox (may as well change the clutch while you're at it) and then there are the usual faults such as the sunroof tilting but not sliding back (drop the headlining for replacement cables) and the rear spoiler (motor gets jammed with corrosion)but that V6 is worth it when you get above 4000rpm and the chassis is superb. Prices are cheap for these as it's a bit of a guzzler although you can get 25mph plus from them, plus the costs for the upkeep can be high so Mike should be able to pick one very reasonably. Ones in tip top condition with the chains done and no faults can go for £6k upwards so will be interesting to see the starting condition and what they do with it. A much underrated car, built by hand at the Karmann factory, the UK was the largest market for them as we know a good motor when we see one Can't wait.

I've still to see this week's one with the Citroen van. I've seen them all so far and they've picked a few odd ones. The Corrado is back to a sensible choice though. I used to like the look of them though never had one myself - when I wanted one I couldn't afford it then when I could afford it I'd moved on to other cars.
