I remember recently re-watching this (yes it's a naff Sweeney episode)... Being a classic VW fan I always chuckle to myself wondering if the current owners of this Devon Bay Window that goes into the drink know the full history of it? Someone still owns it - was MOT'd recently and is currently registered SORN - Imagine if the current owners shock surprise if they happen to watch this episode not knowing it's history and see it being pulled out of the lake! - Maybe it's under restoration? - It's been a few interesting colours over the years but none of my VW friends in the community have seen it.

Would they not have used one that was written off anyway to do the lake scene with the bullet holes etc or could this registration be used on different VW Camper?

For me, as for many other fans of The Sweeney, this is simply the worst episode of the entire series, isn't it Yes Vi. I've always thought exactly the same myself. Charles

I know that the colour descriptions can be a bit vague and it is possible that it is the same one but I'd have thought submerging it would have caused a lot of damage but then again, I know how enthusiastic VW owners can be when is comes to restorations

It had the potential to be an OK episode, the story about the scientist and the missing medicine, but it just got silly, to quote Graham Chapman in Monty Python. The episode is in my bottom 3 of least favourites tieing with Bad Apple and Night Out I would put this episode in my bottom three too. Like you said, it had the potential to be a good episode but the story just turned into farce.
