I wonder if there was any truth in that story of him having an affair with Rock Hudson...
Gene.
Nope. Next question. LOL! You sound like John Lydon on Grundy answering that question Steve.

Watching the repeat of this on ITV4 yesterday and there is a strange cut when George is showing the photofit images to Wally Hough in his bedsit. It's a slo-mo of George and lasts for a second, if that. Hardly worth it really. I thought Glyn Owen played that scene well.
Christine Shaw appears in it and is one of a very few that are in two episodes of The Sweeney (not including Golden Fleece/Trojan Bus), the other being Mrs Peters in Country Boy.

I got the dvd out to look at that Steve, is it as George stands up? Hard to tell what was going on without a bionic eye, was it slow mo or was George just moving very slowly?

It's just after Wally says he got 11 comendations. The cut on ITV 4 is to cover where he goes on to say he was "the best bastard thief taker there was". It's a bit clunky and you don't need a bionic eye to spot it Arthur, maybe you had one eye on the jukebox

I noticed that Richard Hampton makes two appearances in 'Queens Pawn' and 'The Bigger They Are'.

I got round to watching this one yesterday and think it is the best episode of Series 4. It is a return to form and is comparable with any of the best from 1-3, I like the human side of the story, an ex con who has gone straight and turned his life round, now has a decent little house and family, has a bit of good fortune with the pools win, but it all goes wrong for him.
Another spot was the guy who was the witness in the trial was Ventriss out of Heartbeat

I'd agree that it probably is the best episode from Series 4. I suppose the story shows that winning lots of money doesn't necessarily bring you happiness, particularly if your criminal past catches up with you again, as it did with tragic consequences for Eddie Monk.

Great work Gene. I enjoyed going through these and comparing the then and nows. Also good on you for persevering with that hard to find location. To think it was so close to Colet Court. It's a shame Edward Judd's career went down the nick after the early sixties. (Anyone seen 'The Day The Earth Caught Fire.' ? Its a very entertaining film.) I think he was stuck in a contract with Columbia Films of America so maybe he missed out on some good British opportunities? He was a heavy drinker too wasn't he ? So that must have aged him and affected his appearance. Charles. Edward Judd's 1961 film 'The Day The Earth Caught Fire.) is on tonight ( Mon. 16/09/19) at 18:30 on the Talking Pictures channel for anyone who hasn't seen it before. Charles.
