I love the 1970s version of a professional chemical test of a powder to see if it’s a drug. Slit the bag open with your pocket knife and taste it. “Yeah, that’s heroin”!

'Nah, it's not heroin, I reckon it's cocaine'. How does Jack know it isn't heroin but doesn't recognise it as cocaine? He didn't spit it out either like they usually do.

You’d be useless for about day after eating that.

In Murphy's Law, James Nesbitt sniffed a bit of coke while going about his business as an undercover cop.

I'm sure some will know that The Red Cow alongside its Sweeney duties was a music venue for up and coming bands. Some of the bands that giged there were AC/DC, The Stranglers, The Damned, The Police and The Jam which is remarkable really Wow wouldn't have minded seeing a few of those bands in a venue like that Del. They all used to get their break's in venues like that until London pubs went all high end mid/late 80's onwards and a lot of the gig pubs which survived this have more recently died off in a second wave of London redevelopment. West Ken's Famous Three King's still does the live music thing but never actually been it it... it's on my list mind.

Imagine seeing The Stranglers in a Sweeney episode.
Pubs like the Cart & Horses and The Ruskin Arms welcomed heavy metal bands like Iron Maiden, back when they were rawer and more punkish.
If The Sweeney was made now, R and C would simply take a drug sample to a forensic lab specialist to see what it is. That's what most TV cops like Line Of Duty's Arnott and Fleming would do.
