You wouldn’t get away with saying “a dangerous psycho” now! Is the guy at the start of the Royal Mail advert Kwame Kwei-Armah?

'Nutter' would be a no-no as well. ....even though he was a psycho!! "Was he a poof" in Regan would have made it past the edit either! ....even though he wasn't one!

Just watched this again on Itv4, defo not the same impact as Taste of Fear.
A bit of by the numbers episode. Not sure Cook was a credible superb jungle warrior.

I love the ending of this when Jack is told "you're a rotten long term risk" and he turns to the camera, gives a poignant look as the frame is frozen. Very atmospheric.

Bit Professionals-ish ( no offence to Pro's fans ) I think. Cook's antics are entertaining but I wouldn't call it a realistic portrayal of psychotic behaviour. The idea of Cook being Regan's 'mirror image', the 'Mr Hyde to your Dr Jekyll' is a bit contrived. Roger Marshall did the same sort of thing with Col & Ray, he brought them back as Regan's 'obsession'. Bringing back characters like that is a bit comic strip, Dick Barton-ish, 'dastardly Tim Cook strikes again'.

Relevant points AP, mirror image of Cook was pushing it.
At the moment I’m watching Lukey Sparrow.

I prefer On the Run to Taste of Fear personally. I liked the scenes where Cooky is hiding and in the woods. A brilliant portrayal of a psychopath by George Sweeney.

Never consciously noticed that point before Arthur that the two 'brought back' episodes Col & Ray and Tim Cook were written by Roger Marshall... don't think any other Sweeney writer did that or even referenced old characters in their episodes.
