I wasn't quite sure where to post this as it made me smile this morning, and it probably resonates with a lot of forum members, but here is as good as anywhere - Roy Cross, who did the artwork for nearly all of the classic Airfix kits from our collective youth is 100 years old today... roycrossfineart.co.uk/roycrossfineart.co.uk/airfix-galleryVillain

I've just being given a book for my birthday, Warbirds, The Aviation Art of Adam Tooby. He did some of the later Airfix art.

I actually had that Airfix 1/32 scale Maserati Indy kit too (got it in 1982). It was reissued in recent years and I'm sure you can pick them up online or Ebay, except sadly the new boxes have updated computerised artwork.

I've got the re-issued kit stashed away to do at some point... and less than twenty miles from where I'm sat typing this is this rare RHD Indy which is for sale... www.vandp.net/sales/1865/1971-maserati-autovettura-indy-4700Villain, News At Ten, looking for £80k in loose change down the back of the sofa...

A bit of a bonus for me last night: As many of you know I'm very much into Scalextric and slot car racing so attend a club each week. One of the other club members is forum member Endeavour Morse who had asked to buy a car from me. I turned up at the club last night with car in hand, he then paid me cash the agreed sum and then proceeded to gift me a copy of the 1976 Sweeney Annual as well. An unexpected and welcome gift. Sam

Little things that surprise you and make your day?
At the risk of coming on like a happy clappy type, it's easy to forget life's a miracle and the world is full of wonder
It's really a privilege to be alive, and to be alive in a time and place where we're better off than virtually anyone else who ever lived
Make the most of it
PS: A 1976 Sweeney annual Sam? What a result
