Remarkable career and a real creative wit. Beginning characters such as Dame Edna would have been controversial in the 1950s.
Controversy touches all older comedians these days. I say recognise the era of the work and when a character is saying something rather than the person themselves.
Possibly Australia's most famous comedian alongside Paul Hogan.
