And lest we forget, they are NOT stock cars but "bangers." Same as The Long Good Friday Ah yes Bangers - excellent This was another one which I missed during my earlier watching session so I caught it late last week. It’s an excellent episode and Warren Clarke was very good in it. It reinforced my opinion that Jack was a good copper and was fair. Danny (played by Warren Clarke) was an ex con, the evidence pointed in his direction and he was under pressure to get a result. Instead of taking the line of least resistance though, Jack properly checked it all out and established that he wasn’t guilty. All good points Cartman. I do wonder how many real world coppers would have gone to the trouble of looking beyond the planted evidence but, yeah, within the context of the show, and Regan's integrity, it worked brilliantly. "Something doesn't smell right" - indeed I loved the architect's trendy clothes - no surprise to discover he was a wrong 'un And yes, Warren Clarke superb in this episode. So many great character actors of the era turned up in the show.

Ivor Roberts pops up in this episode as the Factory Manager (Where Keaver is working).
Much older viewers may remember Ivor as a Continuity Announcer on the original Welsh ITV Station "TWW" (before HTV came along in the late 60s). A majority of older ITV Continuity Announcers originally trained as Actors.
This is another fave episode; as again - it shows that not all Criminals are dim wit, low lifes. Many are very intelligent and specialise in certain roles when on a "job".
In Keavers case - he specialised in Electronics and in particular - Alarm systems.
The downfall, was with whoever tried set him up - as a test meter taken from the factory was reported as faulty. Someone like Keaver would have known that before taking it.

The Banger racing featured in this episode was filmed at the now demolished Wimbledon Stadium on Saturday 29 June. It was indeed. This info is in the Guv's detailed location report threads from all individual episodes in the Sweeney section. I don't think that section will be available to you though arejayenn as you're a new member and need to get to a certain post count before it unlocks certain sections. Raymondo

You never know when a seemingly unimportant snippet adds to what we already have so don't be afraid to offer up any bit of trivia.
Sam.
