As with 'Stoppo Driver', some of the motoring scenes in this were quite remarkable.
It is also an episode that exemplifies how the top actors of the time were recruited to 'The Sweeney'.
In this respect, was there an overdose of such names in this episode? Warren Mitchell, Catherine Schell, Julian Holloway, Godfrey James, even Peter Armitage and Peter Glaze. The appearance of just any one of them would have made it a worthwhile watch.

I think a lot of actors wanted to be in The Sweeney, certainly once it was established. It gave them a chance to do some "serious" acting and perhaps prove the the public, themselves and their peers that they were capable and should not be considered "type cast" in their more familiar roles. Much like the actors/celebs who wanted to appear on Morcambe & Wise.

Very well filmed, well constructed episode, Warren Mitchell’s acting was excellent, loved the chase with the squad in NHK and the S type Jag. Also the summery feel in the locations. One of the three Smith brothers, the one who was the brains, looked familiar, can’t place where I have seen before

Yes, ta Saint, that’s the man.
Another thing I liked was the scrapyard. When I first started messing with old motors, in the late 70s, that’s just how they were. Some of the cars in it weren’t that old, a mark 3 Zephyr I saw was D regd, 1966, in a scene filmed in 74.
