Also, Nicola Pagett is very nice She sure is Steve. Stoppo is a very enjoyable episode and also like Peter Brayham came up with the original idea for it's script too. Shame Billy Murray's Cooney character was a one off in this episode too.

Nah. you couldn't beat Bill as the driver. as in general. But Cooney was funny, when he said "Pardon"

I agree Bill was the top man. I did feel sorry for Cooney after being "got at " by the criminals but least he "sorted" out a bit of revenge on his way out the force. I reckon Cooney ended up driving a bedford van for British Rail or something

Nah Del I reckon Cooney ended up driving one of these mate. Do agree Bill was the driving 'guv' in The Sweeney.

A Picc Line train?
Possibly, as they have decent drivers. He'd certainly be over-qualified for driving one of these:
Isn't that so Del-Boy?
Sam.

Yeah Sam , Cooney could definitely drive that Picc train back then. They were around from 1973. Thing is Cooney would have to wait until 2000 to drive that other one in the picture, its running in ATO on the Central line . Cooney would be close on drawing his pension by this time and be more likely be Sunday driver rather than Evil Knievel

Na Cooney got a new identity rejoined the force and ended up in sunhill that's gospel..... Because he didn't really snuff it nor did benny, that explained why he ended up like he did in crossroads I like the bit when in the back of the getaway car where they have a Reganesque shut it moment

Great episode. Pity Cooney wasn’t made a regular character. After all Billy M.knows more villains than Jack Regan!

Great episode. Pity Cooney wasn’t made a regular character. After all Billy M.knows more villains than Jack Regan! He certainly did Wayne! When he appeared in 'Performance' with James Fox and Anthony Valentine in1968 (released in 1970) he was hanging around with some very hooky types. James Fox spent a few months hanging around with them too so he could get into the character of Chaz... Villain

I like Stoppo driver, it was one of the episodes on the car chases DVD. I got this I think before the box set release and watched it a fair few times.
I also like the "Pardon" bit from Cooney after George's Evel knievel.
I know Bill is the favourite driver but I quite liked Fred who was the driver in Jigsaw.
