I watched 'Cover Story' again the other week and still find it a very enjoyable episode. As Lord Emsworth said though the plot has some big holes in it. In the scene were George meets Regan in the cafe, his cuts and bruises hardly look convincing, considering he'd been worked over by some hefty and very hard villains. Also would they do that openly to a member of the Flying Squad in those days ? I would have thought they'd have been concerned about being 'fitted up' by the squad ? Which surely could have happened in say the 50s or 60s.
Charles.

Still really fond of this episode. Always enjoyed the atmosphere and the scenes shot by the Thames. A throw back to a London long gone. Oh, and the lovely Prunella Gee who we were lucky enough to once meet at a squad get together some years back, thanks to Gene (AKA The good Dr.)

Yes, I like it for those exact same reasons. Loads of little details that catch the eye - I spent a lot of time looking at the scene where they rip open the bin bags frame by frame..... you can clearly see a newspaper with reference to the murder of Lord Lucan's wife. Love those cultural and historical references that creep in by accident.

I think it's due to be on ITV4 again tomorrow.
Usually have itv4 on in the background with sound low or muted. I was reflecting earlier that in the 6/7 months I've been working from home, I think The Professionals and The Sweeney are on their 3rd cycle!
