Amazingly, 4:3tv was 7 years old yesterday! We continue to grow and grow as a friendly forum thanks to all of our member contributions. For that we are all really grateful. We do still get the odd spam registration but they are picked up immediately and the offending IP's banned from trying again. We don't want a massive membership. Just a quality one. And we have that. We are now on almost 2400 individual threads and over 76,600 posts. Thats a brilliant count and one we could never have imagined back in 2015 and that's all thanks to you. By way of a small celebration, there is now a new forum theme available called '7 Years of 43tv' which has a completely new colour scheme and is presented in a widescreen view compared to previous themes. Feel free to try it out. (Established Members Only) Simply go to "Profile" at the top of the page and click on "Edit Profile" Then click on the "Settings" tab and scroll down to where you see "Forum Theme". Select the theme you want to change to (in this case '7 Years Of 43tv' and then click on the SAVE button that opens up. Click 'OK' You will then get one final popup to save your profile settings - Click on 'Save' and then you are done! Here's to many many more years of continuing success here on 4:3tv Gene.

It's the best, most interesting, forum on the net.
Long may it continue, the members and admins are brilliant.

Those 7 years have flown by! 4:3tv continues to remain the best place for retro content, everyone on here brings something unique which makes the topics covered on here so interesting and diverse Huge thanks to Gene for everything he does on here. The amount of work he puts in, especially behind the scenes on the technical side, is incredible. His detailed programme episode location guides are unique in their fantastic detail and content. The legendary 4:3 meets allow us all to meet up and enjoy varied locations from the yesteryear of classic TV and Film. Thanks Guv! Many thanks also to fellow staff members Sam and Del Boy for all their work, and to every member for their contributions. Roll-on the next 12 months! The Saint

My only regret is that I didn't discover the forum 7 years ago. I haven't even put a full year in, yet I've met so many friendly people with shared interests. Their combined knowledge has answered many of the questions I have sought answers for for years and I have noticed everyone has something to give. In 26 years or so of browsing the Net, this is the friendliest forum I have come across. Thanks to all those who make it happen and here's to the next 7 years.

I think this is my 26th year of "Internet" too..... Oh those days of a Dial up 9600 modem, 'websites' with no graphics and extortionate Phone Bills.....

I signed up to Netcom as soon as it started as your only fees were a monthly subscription and the phone call costs. Before that it was either Compuserve who gave you a free hour, then charged you per minute in addition to phone calls as well as a subscription, or Demon who charged you a £25 set up fee, but didn't actually help with the set up. You had to get the software and figure it out yourself. If you needed help, they charged you another £25.... and you try telling that to the younger generation.... I suppose the alternative back in those days would have been a Usenet newsgroup:- alt.rec.culture.4:3tv.retro
