There's a lot of warnings about today's storm
I was out with my dog earlier here in Sussex and it's already pretty flipping breezy
Guessing we all remember the great storm of 87 - at least those who were in the South of England at the time
That was a biggie - trees down all over the place
Stay safe folks

Yeah, it's a tad blowy here in the east. Michael Fish certainly remembers 87.

Yes it is a bit blustery here in Hampshire too. We have some roads blocked due to fallen trees but not as much as we had in '87. Annie and our youngest have been over on the Isle Of Wight all week and were due to return today but decided to postpone their return until tomorrow when it should have all died down. It is certainly being hit over there particularly around The Needles and Alum Bay having recorded gusts of over 125mph: >>> Island Echo - 125mph gusts <<<Sam.

Here in Sheff, we had next doors fence giving in and launching itself over the road... Still very windy here.

Listening to Shelagh Fogarty on LBC earlier this afternoon taking reports about the storm when I heard, A listener from North Yorkshire emailed to say it's not 'big coat' weather up here yet.
It's changed a bit over the last few hours though, so thoughts go out to all those who are suffering. Keep safe.

Yes, that's what can kill people, flying debris.

Yes, that's what can kill people, flying debris. Yes. Definately. There's been a few roads closed due to fallen trees.
I saw something earlier one of my kids was watching - it was video footage of people on the south coast going out for a walk and filming it. As the waves crash over the walls and all that.
Nutters - despite being told not to go out.

Someone filmed the eye of the storm at Heathrow too, not really watched this let alone the 7 hour marathon here. As for storm chasers each to their own but no way I'd go anywhere near one! A bit crap weather wise in London too but hopefully it's passing over now.

I can see the interest in being out in bad weather, as long as you are in region where there isn't much debris flying around. I'd like to be near the coast and get some good pictures of the sea state, not dumb enough to stand on a pier or beach where you can get washed into the sea.
Sadly a few deaths I see from falling trees or other debris in the last day or so.
Chucking it down here again today, I gave the M11 a miss yesterday and WFH.
