As I've said elsewhere I really enjoyed this episode. A particular highlight, and I can't even tell you why, was when we see/hear them all watching the footage back. It cracked me up.
The weirdest intonation on 'hot dogs' that I've ever heard.
Were ties bigger in the 70s?
Why are old phones so satisfying? I wish we could use those at work!
The storyline was fantastic in this one. There are so many strings to it. And the ending - very understated, but somehow it works. I love the titles, too.

In the opening Teaser - during the arrest of the villains...
The "Police Camera Man" (Pink shirt) I think is Dusty Miller (Camera Op on 'Get Carter' and Lighting Cameraman on about 60% of the "Sweeney" episodes and countless "Minder" episodes).
Sound Recordist, Tony Dawe features in "Queens Pawn" (amongst the crowd on the steps on the Court Exterior), he is stood Camera Right, (another Pink or Purple shirt), in headphones, with large Mic and Sounder recorder.
Worked on things with both. Dusty - quite some time ago, sadly no longer with us. Tony - still very active and was nominated for an Oscar (I think for "About a Boy"), and also an endorser of Top end sound equipment - often seen in industry adverts.

Is there an implication that George roughed up Biggles when he was interviewing him?
I ask because in one scene he has developed a cut to his forehead and seems to favouring his stomach where previously he wasn't?
In Thou Shalt Not Kill its more than an implication that Gerry (?) worked someone over.

Catching up on episode 2 Jackpot, watched this at lunchtime today which was welcome distraction whilst working at home. Love the Biggleswade comment in the cells when asked about the bag of cash reciting the 'All of a sudden a dirty great pudding came flying through the air...' one of my old CCF teachers a Scot used to sing a rude version of that, funny I'd never noticed it before. The characters are so well written already, my favourite line is when Carter is talking to Jack about questioning one of the suspects "you were arrested carrying a 4 foot chain, do you still insist you were taking your dog for a walk. 'Yes' he said 'it's a very big dog' ;-) Do feel sorry for Thorpe already too.

And when was the last time bank current accounts were called 'Means' and credit accounts (when Jack is speaking to Maurie in the boozer with the wood panels (presume someone knows where this is/was? - looks like the same pub Jack meets the chap from the press later in the episode too.)

Yes, some great dialogue in this episode. My favourite line has to be Biggleswade talking to Regan after the police have searched the flat: 'I bet you left it looking in a right mess.' Regan replies: 'We left it as we found it - a right mess.'

Watched this one earlier too
Another goodie. Not as good as Ringer mind, but still pretty good
This is surely the one and only time the squad films an operation though?!
Interesting too that Regan is under suspicion when the £30k goes missing - I think they were really trying to underline his maverick, rogue status in these early episodes
And where the heck was Haskins?

Originally, Haskins was only contracted to appear in so many episodes - also I think Garfield Morgan was also doing quite a bit of Theatre work as well as work on the Sweeney too. He was artistic director (or resident director) at Nottingham Playhouse for a number of years.
I think the idea of Regan being responsible is perhaps more a pointer towards the Corruption charges and 'Operation Countryman' investigation - affecting the real Flying Squad - and was ongoing while the Sweeney was in production. The (real) flying squad commander was jailed sometime around this time too.
