Just had confirmation of my annual leave for the weekend of 2nd and 3rd April so count me in for the Sunday Gene . Villain Excellent! Name added - Cheers Vil Cheers Guvnor - will confirm seat numbers available in the motor as soon as anything changes but at the moment it's four . Several years ago I had the chance to buy 'BAP 245B' the red Mk1 Mini in 'R&H' but somebody else beat me too it, a pity really as I'd have kept it and been able to come to the meet in it! It was restored in the '90s by a chap called John Kelly (he also restored the Radford Cooper S in Adam Adamant Lives') and I believe has since been restored again. Villain

The itinerary is almost complete. Though we will be covering a fair few miles, it is less that we have covered at previous Meets such as up in Newcastle a few years back, and once again, I anticipate that driving will be quite easy going as it always has been for me in this neck of the woods. There is a nice extended lunch break planned where we will all get the chance to relax and have a good old chat, drink and a snack if required.
More info soon.....

Right. The itinerary as promised! For a change, there will be very little walking at this Meet. Given the spread of locations it could only be done by using the cars. The flip side to that is that we will be covering a fair few miles this time. Not anywhere near as many as the 100 miles we covered on the Get Likely Meet up in Newcastle. Provided everyone follows the sat nav directions I will be providing, I think we should cover around 70 mile this time. Even then though, the driving will be fairly relaxed again this time with a good lunch break in an all new location so we can savour the surroundings and catch up with old friends. Onto the details: SATURDAY APRIL 2ND:I plan to arrive at the Premier Inn South Mimms for 12 noon at latest and parking the motor up for the day. From here, I will be having a short stroll down to the local boozer for a couple of jars BEFORE checking in to the hotel. After returning to the hotel later that afternoon for a wash and brush up, I will be going out for the evening, possibly to The Manor and/or Borehamwood for a bite to eat and a few drinks to round off the evening. All those arriving on Saturday are more than welcome to join me. Just keep in touch on the day and I'll update you on where I am. SUNDAY APRIL 3RD:WE WILL MEET UP AT 9AM ON THE CIVIC CENTRE CAR PARK ON ELSTREE WAY, BOREHAMWOOD WD6 1JT. AT THIS POINT IN TIME, PARKING IS FREE ON THIS CAR PARK FOR THE DAY (BUT HAVE COINS IN CASE ANYTHING CHANGES) I WILL BE HAVING A BREAKFAST IN THE HART & SPOOL in BOREHAMWOOD (WETHERSPOONS) AT 8AM (BEFORE WE ALL MEET UP). IF YOU WISH TO JOIN I SUGGEST YOU PARK ON THE ABOVE MEET UP CAR PARK AND WALK (8 minutes) TO THE PUB. WE WILL LEAVE THE PUB BY 8.45AM TO RETURN TO THE MEET UP POINT.ONCE AGAIN, we will leave the pub no later than 8.45am and get back to the car park for 9am. The Meet will commence at the car park at 9.30am SHARP. MAIN MEET:We will all set our sat navs to 'AVOID MOTORWAYS' The first drive is 45 minutes to a beautiful idyllic location - The Duke Of Cumberland (as seen in 2 episodes - For The Girl Who Has Everything & The Man From Nowhere
Next we take a 20 minute drive to another beautiful picture card village which features a number of locations all in the same street - The village of Crake Castle (as seen in For The Girl Who Has Everything). We'll be spending 30 minutes here to stroll around this little village and see all the buildings featured.
Next is the longest drive of the day at 50 minutes, which will take us to our extended lunch stop in an all new R&H location. - Orange Tree (as seen in It's Supposed To Be Thicker Than Water). We will spend a shade of 2 hours here for refreshments and a catch up with the squad.
After lunch we will walk a few yards to see the next location. - On route to the Cemetary (as seen in Whoever Heard Of A Ghost Dying).
From here, it's back to the cars for a shorter 15 minute drive to... - The Cavallo-Smith residence (as featured in Vendetta For A Dead Man)
Then another 15 minute drive to another location that featured breifly. - North Mymms Memorial (as seen briefly in But What A Sweet Little Room)
Yet another 15 minute drive to the next location. - Well End Lodge (as seen in A Sentimental Journey)
The final drive of the day to our last port of call and one which is a welcome return for most of us. - Grims Dyke (as featured heavily in You Can Always Find A Fall Guy). Here we will have 1 hour to end the tour and savour the beautiful surroundings.
If all goes to plan, this should see us to around 5pm.
Those who wish to can join some of us for an after Meet meal in a nearby pub (which we will probably book ahead on the day). Those not wishing to join us for this are free to head on home once we are finished at the Grims Dyke.
I hope that everyone likes the look of the itinerary and I really look forward to us all meeting up again.
I will be handing out addresses and postcodes to all drivers on the day. Following your sat nav or phone sat nav makes this really easy.
As ever, any questions, please fire away.
Gene.
