Great set of photos. I hadn't realised Anne Reid was married to Granada producer Peter Eckersley.
The ones that stand out for me are the Northern Soul fans (and the hairstyles !) and the January Sale queue which didn't start at 6am on Boxing Day like they seem to do these days !

Great pics DE. Manchester was just ace back then. Used to love the Arndale center in the 80s and the wimpy bar. I remember the first CCTV looking like that! There would suddenly rotate, lol always reminded me of Daleks! GC What was you up to GC Lol I used to have a passion for nabbing shoplifters in retail shops, must of worked for quite a few places over the years as a security guard! such a buzz! the most hilarious stint was working undercover as a store detective, for Lidl, I got sick of constantly have to change my clothes throughout the day and loading my trolly up with frozen food, only just to have to put it all back in the freezers again, a couple of hours later
