Just watched this series again over the last few days. It's just fantastic and is awash with Sweeney actors/actresses. Not much more to add other than what's been written on this thread already but if you have it, dig it out and give it another viewing. I'm going to get Fox now and watch that, any other recommendations would be welcome

Fox is excellent Steve. As for similar recommendations, I thought the 1975 Yorkshire tv serial 'The Hanged Man' was surprisingly good. Network released it years ago & they're re-releasing it with the show 'Turtle's Progress' in the same set, Turtle's Progress features a character from The Hanged Man & is considered a 'Minder' prototype. www.imdb.com/title/tt0180355/

However, I didn't think Turtle's Progress was very good despite having supposed similarities with Minder, which of course followed later in 1979. ATV shows were generally poorer than Thames' IMO. Vi

There's also an appearance by Dorothy White as Frank's institutionalised wife Lucy, AKA Margaret in Get Carter. Sorry if mentioned before.

Vi No, I couldn't get into Turtle's Progress either. Wouldn't mind watching it again to see if its any better.

I hadn't connected Dorothy White with the two before, though her character Lucy is the foster mother/guardian of Ross's son, his wife Eve ( or 'Evie' as he calls her ) is played by Victoria Fairbrother. Looking at Fairbrother's imdb page, she is married to Don Warrington, Vienna's old friend from Rising Damp! Their son Jake Fairbrother is also an actor- www.unitedagents.co.uk/jake-fairbrother

Actually, I'm not sure about that relationship. Was Lucy related to Frank? Why did she & Keith have responsibility for Paul?
