I have just watched this series and cannot recommend it enough, it's brilliant. Thanks to Dirty Epic for starting this thread and bringing this to my attention. I'm pretty sure that Brian Croucher is our very own Del Boys dad, the resemblance is striking Couldn't agree more Steve mate. Just finished watching the final episode 6 tonight (complete with H 69/70 Jag Mk10) and it's been a blast. It's also the sort of series where if you watch it a second time you pick up things you didn't initially see. Great acting, great villains, birds, some great shots of gritty, grotty London in early 1978, great motors and even an overload of Routemaster buses, particularly on the sixth episode, including one on route 159 which, by sheer coincidence was the last route in London to have RMs, finally giving up the ghost in December 2005. Clearly mainly shot in sarf London and the Mann Egerton garage with its contents is great. Clock the poster for the new Rover 2600, released at the end of 1977 which enables a firmish date of the shooting of the show, if we didn't already know it. www.roversd1.info/2600/2600.htmlWatched the last episode last night which was an absolute corker, really did enjoy that. As for the filming dates, I think it was shot over the November '77 to January '78 period, in one scene in the last episode you can see a tax disc which expires on 30/11/77. I mentioned the Ford press car 'VHK...' reg' numbers in my previous post and last night I noticed that at least four of the cars used wore these reg' numbers, two Mk2 Granadas, a MkIV Cortina and the red Capri driven by Bryan Marshall's character Hallam. A great series from start to finish and a Euston Films masterpiece of the genre, I'm looking forward to watching my 'Fox' DVD when it arrives now. Modern producers, writers, editors and directors could learn a thing or two by watching 'Out'. Villain

That would have been a busy time for Euston as they were filming Sweeney 2 in November 77.

That occurred to me Gene but I wasn't 100% sure, thanks. Euston stalwart John Maskall was the cameraman on 'Out', he must have been a very busy fella, perhaps the two productions were shot side by side (almost) or there was a second unit operating. The Autumn / Winter feel of 'Out' is very evident though and I did notice another tax disc which expires well into 1978. Just had a thought - the DVD has the full shooting script as a special addition, I'll have a butcher's and see if there are any dates in it. Villain

Great find Villain and glad you enjoyed watching it as much again as I did. The 'Frank Ross is out' theme on the car is another reminder of the adverts for the forthcoming show in advance of episode 1 as they were worded on the theme that Frank Ross was out and he wanted revenge. Just found these publicity stills from 'Out' while I was looking for something else... Material for this seems quite scarce compared to other Euston Films productions. Villain
