I tried to be Travolta on the dancefloor after I saw the film. Didn't really succeed though We know. We have film evidence. £200 in fivers or it’s going on the inter web.

I do remember seeing Saturday Night Fever when it was released in the UK. I must admit that I wasn't interested in seeing it but Annie wanted to and as it was only around our fourth or fifth date then the thought of the cinema back row took over. We had seen the original "Gone In 60 Seconds" a couple of days previously (or rather we'd sat through it twice because we were in the back row ) so I was prepared to give it a viewing. Sad to say that the story didn't really do much for me but the music was okay and very much of the time. I bought Annie the double album and she played it regularly but we've never given the film a second viewing. We also saw Staying Alive, Grease, and in a similar vein Xanadu but once again never given them a second viewing despite listening to the music. One little footnote about Robert Stigwood: he bought Barton Manor which is an estate next to Queen Victoria's Osborne House on the Isle Of Wight. Under his ownership the Manor had a vineyard that produced Barton Manor white wine. Sadly that was all taken up after a number of years but to this day was one of the best white wines I've ever tasted. Sam.
