1 WEEK TO GO! The weekend is almost upon us. Take this last opportunity to watch the necessary episodes, look carefully through the itinerary and turn up on time! Any questions, now is the time to ask. UPDATE: There appear to be some problems around the country with fuel shortages. Queues are building at fuel stations. Those of you who are driving to, during and from the Meet please ensure you keep your motors topped up this week to avoid problems next weekend.Gene. It’s going to be another amazing weekend! Thanks for all your efforts Gene The Saint

It will indeed! Yeah I do hope this fuel shortage trouble can be sorted out be next weekend - was bad enough on the roads today just getting around to one shop I wanted to go to and already at least a couple of Petrol stations near me have closed totally. Queues on a several of the roads too.
Anyhow, not long to go now, and looking forward to what will be a great weekend! Thanks Gene for all the hard work in arranging everything and the itenery!

Will definitely have to plan and make sure we got enough fuel, cos obviously driving up North in itself will use most of a tank, think the best thing is, fill up in Mani ASAP when arriving.. This whole panic buying thing is just stupid! Our local garage had signs up saying max' £30 spend per vehicle! People are like sheep! It annoys me, this is exactly what happened during the first lock down when everyone went berserk buying, and clearing the shelves of toilet rolls and hand soap!

I had to drive to North Wales today and on my journey saw a mixed bag of situations regarding fuel. I had half a tank in and thought I'd top up while I was there. First garage I went to had no diesel. Just petrol and plenty of it. Second garage I went to was when I was almost home and just a quarter of a tank in. It was a BP station & they were trading as usual with no queues at all and I was able to top the car up fully. The car will hardly be used between now and the Meet so I am sorted.
20 minutes ago though, I took my Son out to catch a train with his mates and the local Tesco had at least 50 motors blocking the main road as they queued for fuel. Absolutely ridiculous.
My advice, get out at sparrows fart in the morning and beat the queues (if the garages aren't shut or empty). Another option is Motorway Services, which are being prioritised with fuel supplies. A neighbour told me earlier this evening that he was able to top up at Sandbach services no problem at all.
One way or another, this week anyone driving to / during / back from the Meet should make every effort to get fueled up. If any drivers fail to attend it would severely impact the Meet.
Gene.

UPDATE:- I've just had a message from our lunch break pub confirming that they are still happy to welcome us this coming Sunday.
- I've also had a message from Stockport Council to confirm that on street parking at our first drive-to location (Stopford House - The Police Station) is now FREE OF CHARGE.

ATTENTION ALL DRIVERS:- The Saint
- DC Burtonshaw
- Get Carter
- Peter Picard
You may have already done so, but as we are now getting critically close to the Meet, it's vital that you ensure that you get your cars fueled up as soon as possible now. We really can not afford to lose any of you due to lack of fuel this coming weekend. Without your hugely appreciated services as a driver, the Meet can not go ahead. Happily today on my travels I have witnessed a number of fuel stations reopening so things have clearly eased somewhat. However, it is still a possibility that these stations can run out again in a short space of time so don't waste this opportunity. Go out, fuel up and make sure we can run this Meet without any issues Gene.

This just leaves The Saint & Peter Picard to confirm ASAP.Gene.
