Great 4-0 win over Ukraine, let's hope for another in the semi against Denmark on Wednesday. I've seen England in the semis of the World Cup and Euros three times, 1990, 96 and 2018. Don't remember 1966 at all as I was 6 and not yet into football.
Fingers crossed!

Spot on there Carty! Here's hoping they keep giving us a good show, they seem more professional and focussed than before which surely is key to doing well.

I'm nowhere near a Football pundit - or even to the levels of the "armchair expert" - though last nights game was impressive stuff - compared to that of the Germany match on Friday, where they looked like they were just going through the motions.
Hope they keep that standard up.
A great game, and win - fingers crossed for the Denmark match. Bring it on!

Me neither Sparks, I was rubbish at playing as a kid, had no interest in it. I only took more of an interest when my son started playing in a kids team about 5 years ago. I don't follow any club but will watch the international stuff. Frankly I like listening to quality commentary, the BBC radio 5 stuff is good. Lots of bad things about football but it does have some good points.

Pleased at the positive points, a morale booster for the country etc, but have to admit I used yesterday evening as a good excuse to get the weekly shop done in an almost empty supermarket ! Then again, at school when picking teams, I was the one who always got picked next to last before the chubby lad with the NHS spectacles. If I played particularly badly, which was often, then the chubby lad would get picked before me

I was rubbish at playing, but liked it anyway. When I was a kid I never took any interest in football, but got into it when I was 13, and quickly became a big fan. The first game I remember on tv was the 73 cup final where Sunderland best Leeds. I started going to matches at Bury at the start of the 73/4 season

Used to go to a few Derby County games with my Dad, I spent more time interested in the TV coverage and how the OB units covered it.
All the BBC OB units were old men in cardigans and smoked pipes (or appeared to), the ITV equivalent rolled up in their jeans and Jack Regan style anoraks!!
I used to love the "World of Sport" World Cup and FA Cup coverage- where they had cameras on the team coach.
A whole different world back then!

I'm not really a big football fan but I'm hoping England win it as i got them in the works sweepstake. I pulled out France and England from the bag and must admit I thought France would do better and England would fall by the wayside but it seems the other way round so come on England make us proud. (and me a little bit of cash😂)
