Adele's effort is certainly better than Sam Smith's (mind you, I was underwhelmed by Spectre as a film as well!) but there have been so many far better themes over the years.
Windy has a point about the ITV viewer but we've seen that in so many of the polls from ITV over recent years, the poll winners are always the recent fare. I don't think that it is necessarily the average viewer, more like the average voting viewer. It would be interesting to see what cross-section of the viewers actually vote.

Yes i was underwhelmed by Spectre. CGI is so plastic and fake at the best of times but in Spectre its use in the end of the film at MI5 was frankly utter garbage. Its use in Skyfall was no better. The scene where a Tube crashes through a hole was sooooo bad. The Bond franchise is slowly turning into the ridiculous again after a fabulous reboot with Daniel Craig's first outing in Casino Royale.

Funny you should mention that train tube scene from 'Skyfall' as I saw the Stallone film, 'Creed' last week and we see Rocky watching this scene on his tv. I liked Skyfall a lot. I thought it had the perfect balance between large action sequences and a more personal insight into Bond and M. With Skyfall Bond was painted as the underdog; we saw him struggle to pass his fitness test, got an insight into the lonely childhood at the Skyfall house etc. The audience was led to be on Bond's side, understand him a bit better. I also enjoyed Spectre but they disregarded the personal element of his character (though his insistence that Madeleine not look up at the video was relateable Bond again ) and filmed him more as an individual assassin/agent having to act and fight in distant lands. I didn't enjoy Spectre as much but when I thought about all that it covered in its plot, it definitely needs a second watch to really determine its place amongst the others. I liked the broader roles played by Q and Miss Moneypenny. Right, sorry this thread is about the music. If I get started on 'Skyfall' it is a bit hard to stop. I really really dislike the Sam Smith song.

Did anyone see on ITV last night, The Nations Favourite Bond Song ? No. 1 was Adele ??? Is this because the average ITV viewer today cannot think past the previous James Bond theme ? I think we need a 4:3TV poll on this Saint The mind boggles. I think a poll is a good idea Windy yes. Feel free to set it up yourself if you wish.
Gene.
BIBI can't on here Gene. Does it have to be the person who started the thread ?
