I actually quite like it, based on the Morris J type. Low volume, electric, I’d expect it to be north of £30k. It’s a nice take on the old Morris look and puts a smile on your face. Now if they did a Commer Spacevan that’d be something else 😆

I've been reading up a bit recently about Commers trucks and they used a very peculiar engine called the TS3, which was also known as a knocker engine, it was a three cylinder two stroke with opposed pistols in each cylinder, which gave it effectively six cylinders in a very compact layout. I do remember seeing them, they had the exhaust under the front bumper and were extremely noisy.

Interesting Carty The wiki page has the following on the TS3 ; The Commer TS3 was a diesel engine fitted in Commer trucks built by the Rootes Group in the 1950s and 1960s. It was the first diesel engine used by the company. Wikipedi Displacement: 3.261 litres Power output: 105 brake horsepower (78 kW) at 2,400 rpm Torque output: 270 lb.ft at 1,200 rpm Cooling system: Water-cooledBlimey what a noisy old lump I wouldn't fancy working on them every day.

Talking of Commer/Karrier lorries, The refuse truck used in the refuse tip in The Sweeney episode "Cover Story", uses the Commer V series cab but I don't think it has the TS3 engine as I can't see the famous side exhaust under the cab, Carty mentions.
Although it is badged as a Karrier, with a specially constructed refuse truck body and crew cab. A bit like Leyland truck cabs being badged with Leyland, AEC or Albion nameplates.

Most Karrier bin wagons were the smaller Bantam, Radcliffe and Bury had some.
Yes, as DC said, Leyland did that with different badges on the Ergo cab trucks, originally they were AEC, but later were Albion and Leyland as well. The LAD cab was also used under different names, Leyland, Albion and Dodge.

I came across another make I had never heard of before in some stuff I was reading about the formation of BMC, Autovia. It was an offshoot of Riley before the war, about the time they went bust and were bought out by Morris in 1937.
It was an attempt to challenge Rolls Royce, Daimler etc, and the cars were very expensive. The venture was a failure, only 44 were made and it pushed Riley into insolvency.
