Presumably the equivalent of this soon will be AC in a DC car!

Presumably the equivalent of this soon will be AC in a DC car! Thing is - there will almost certainly be someone who'll try this.

.....and putting a fire out in an EV isn't easy either! I'd assume with it being electrical it have to be Co2 powder to extinguish. I wonder if it'll be an MOT requirement to carry a small Co2 extinguisher in the boot? (Not that a small one would be any use with a major electrical fire).
I am sure it's on Youtube, there was a video doing the rounds of one of those Hover Boards that smoked, and then burst into flames. It's user chucked water on it.... genius.
Currently got a Mobility scooter from a Neighbour to try and repair in the workshop.
The power transistors that control the motors are totally cooked. Luckily they haven't burned the PCB. Just was quite surprised at how small the Heatsink for the transistors was - and it wasn't in a particularly well vented place either.

You would have to be quick to put a EV fire out. There's a lot of lightweight material involved that will go up quicker than a traditional car I would think. Regarding batteries have you seen how some of those E- Cigs go up when they short They can be quite intense.

I haven't seen the batteries in E-Cigs (can't stand the things!!) - though aren't they those chemical Li-on batteries or similar?

Lithium ion batteries mostly Sparky. It's more likely the cheapness and quality that's at fault.

I've actually done this twice now! Once in a breakdown truck, I put a load of unleaded in, I managed to get a few hundred yards, spluttering! They was so much smoke it looked like summit from Beirut! And then another time visa versa, but this time at the filling station! In a Citroen Picasso, this time I didn't start it, but it will still had to be towed away and the tank drained!

The diesel/petrol mix in my van got down to below half by this afternoon so I filled it up to the brim with diesel.
It seems to have had no effect whatsoever on the van, which has run as normal.
