Great pics Del Boy, thanks for posting them. It sounds like you enjoyed the film as much as I did, it really is a gem and you're right, it does capture the cold war feel very well, such mistrust of everyone Good to see you rocking Bavaria's finest

Was your journey via plane as in Miami Twice or boat as in To Hull & Back? Plane Stan. Couldn't take the chance of following the ferry in the wrong direction again.

You could have asked for directions from a oil rigger.
Great pics Del. These are films that I haven't watched for many years so will have to have a refresher at some point.
Thanks for posting the pics, looks like you had a good break.
Sam.

No problems Sam. I've never seen Billion Dollar Brain either so that's on the to do list. I checked amazon last night but couldn't find a blu ray set. There is a DVD issue of the films though.

I haven't seen Billion Dollar Brain either Del Boy, (Only a few minutes of the beginning.) but I believe it's not in the same class as the first two Harry Palmer films. By the way here's the link to a Harry Palmer location guide I discovered about six months ago. keesstam.tripod.com/location.htmlI'm going to Berlin myself in December, for four days, but I don't think the missus would fancy doing a location tour.

Class find Bronson. Just note the locations as i found that a lot are on the tourist route anyway so you don't really have to go out your way to get some snaps. I was lucky staying a couple of mins walk away from those i photographed.

Love these films, and Funeral in Berlin is my favourite in the series. Brilliant finds, well done.

Hi Del Boy... thanks for posting these. I have long been a fan of The Ipcress File and seen many times, but only recently re-watched Funeral in Berlin.
It must have been quite a challenge to have shot a movie there at that time, as the wall hadn't been constructed that long at the time.
The atmosphere really comes through the screen, and having been there a few times, a lot of the architecture is still there, albeit built around to some degree. I agree the Palmer character evolved from the first film; more confident and even more cocky than he was before, when Palmer had been given a chance to avoid a jail sentence in his new job. Haven't seen the BDB & the 90's ones... will I be disappointed? [as an aside, I've always been grateful to Michael Caine for making specs sexy! ]
