I went to my first classic car show for 2021. Well I actually haven't been to one since February 2020. I had a wonderful day. Maybe it wasn't the quality or quantity of cars I saw but rather the simple pleasure of being able to walk the lines of cars, chat with owners and enjoy a pastime that I've missed.
Rear Engine Design Car show
I love their poster design.
The show was held at The Austrian Club in Melbourne. I had never been there before but the quality of the food and coffee was outstanding! Full meals in their club rooms and of course a glass of beer or wine available. Old fashioned band playing in front of a snow painted mountains backdrop. Gotta love it. We don't get that stuff out here.
Ok to the cars. Nice slow paced feel to this show with cars parked randomly on the green lawns.
Porsches, Beetles, Combis, Ferraris, Renaults, Fiats ...

That is certainly an interesting theme for a car show, thanks for posting Batgirl. I'm disappointed there's no Hillman Imps or their variants but for some strange reason I like the Chevrolet Corvair. I do wonder why it has a race number on the side as their performance in standard trim would be best described as lacking. Sounds as if you had a good day out though, it would be good to get the car shows back up and running here again. Sam.

Cheers for the comments. Things getting back to 'normal' is a big relief. I am sure the car shows will soon return to the UK.

Let's hope Melbourne and Aus get back to some kind of normal very, very soon.

Thanks for the photos Batgirl, an interesting theme for a car show, rear engined cars, but with the lovely Ferraris it seems that includes mid engined cars too but no worries there! (Maybe similar to classic American car shows in the UK, who are happy to let in Canadian and Australian built cars in too).
I agree with Gene on the green VW Type 3 fastback and I like the Corvair too. Was watching until today an AMT plastic kit to build for a model Chevy Corvair but I forgot to bid and it ended but hey ho.
The rear engined motorbike is something I haven't seen before and that Lamborghini Urraco is also a beauty!
