I know I should be discussing the latest F1 race on this thread, but later for that. I like the Heineken advert. they play during the breaks in the F1 races on Kayo. I know they play it all the time, but apart from the father and son competition (which would be hard for a kid to grow up with) it sort of seems symbolic of the competition between Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton when they both raced for Mercedes... though Lewis wouldn't have hugged Nico when he won. It is a tear jerker of a song if you listen to it. Parents spend time with your kids, even when it is boring for you. Lol Well I'm teaching my son to drive lately and I do not enjoy teaching driving at all but that ad reminds me that quantity time is just as important as quality. I wondered what F1 fans on this forum think of Nico Rosberg? I thoroughly enjoyed the year that Rosberg won the championship in 2016, particularly as I was at the Aust. GP to see his first win of that season. True competition, maybe not healthy rivalry at times, but damn good spectator viewing. Rosberg adds a more current perspective in driver interviewers on SkySports but I can't help but think that he left too early. Anyone would be mentally exhausted playing the F1 team mind games and I respect his decision to go then. It kind of makes Lewis Hamilton's achievements even more remarkable. What will Lewis one day when he does finish F1 racing?

I've not seen the ad over here Batgirl so thanks for posting Nico should have won more than the one title at Mercedes, he was certainly quick enough. Hamilton always seemed to be able to pressure Nico and come out on top more than the other way round. I think Nico should have won the championship the year before he did triumph. I seem to remember he let Lewis bully him at first corners on a few occasions, that undoubtedly cost him wins and he really should have been more selfish and sent Lewis a message. It would have taken a few clashes like Senna/Prost. All the most successful sportsmen and women have that selfish streak about them. Some can be downright arrogant. Good luck with teaching your son to drive. Not an easy task

Monaco G.P It was great to see the cars back in town on the most iconic G.P circuit of them all. The weekend offered up a few surprises even though the on track action didn't offer up lots of movement in the positions, but that's Monaco. Charles Leclerc did well to put it on pole and who knows if he hadn't of brought the red flag out after his crash whether Verstappen and Sainz could have pipped him. A real shame for him that the car was was damaged and he couldn't start. It was good to see some competitive Ferraris, I hope they can be a player in the top orders at other races on this years calendar. F1 needs that badly.
I enjoyed the race and thought there were some great performances throughout the field. Valtteri Bottas had yet more bad luck. It's astonishing how the lions share of that ends up with him and not Hamilton. On this occasion Hamilton, so many times the benefactor of others DNFs had a bad weekend which was really surprising. Pleased that Verstappen got a maiden Monaco win. Max really managed the race well and never looked in any bother. Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz took well earned podiums too. Vettel was back on form here and he deserved his result. I agree with the viewing public who had him as driver of the day.

It was great race from the outset though such a shame for Leclerc after his well-earned pole to have to sit it out. All credit to him in the interviews and the end of the race showing his support for his team-mate Carlos Sainz when he could have disappeared off in a sulk as many others would have done.
Max drove a great race from start to finish keeping sufficiently well ahead of Bottas to maintain a safe distance. Such a shame to see Bottas drop out in the way he did, I can't recall ever seeing such a fault happen before and you could sense the wheelman's frustration with very attempt he made to get the wheel nut off.
Great drive from Lando Norris too, poor Daniel Ricciardo must have wondered where he was going wrong to be lapped by his lesser experienced team-mate.
The only downside of the race for me was Hamilton sounding like a spoilt brat in blaming the team for the way the pit stops panned out and dropping back two places. Yes the undercut has worked in his favour many times but if the competitors' teams react to the Mercedes actions then that is not the Mercedes team's fault. They tried their strategy, the other teams reacted to that strategy and for them it paid off and on this occasion for Mercedes it didn't. Not the team or Hamilton's fault, just the luck of the draw. Sh*t happens, take it on the chin and get on with the job, stop whingeing over the radio! Had his radio transmission said something like "Bugger, didn't work this time lads but thanks for trying!" then I would have had real respect for him.
Sam.
