Absolutely love TOTP and recorded a few programs recently, there's the ones entitled 'Big hits' of which 80' 81' & 82' I thought were my faves! Then you have the same years but entitled 'The story of' in which the episodes cross over obviously with the same artists, but where the latter as the artists' on as they look now! and being interviewed, looking back and reflecting when they used to be on back in the day! And so again, I think the above years 80' 81' & 82' are still the best although I've not managed to see or record 83-87 in which then I would have the full range of what I think was the pinnacle and the best of the 80s style music starting with the new romantic stuff early on 81' 82' & 83' especially, and till finally where I personally feel generally, the best of the 80s finally found itself tapering and drifting off into another style era about 1987/88!! has anyone else watched these TOTP The story of episodes?? What did you think of them ?? what I find interesting but astounding back then is how political and simply awkward and controlling the BBC appeared to be, in regards the format and running of the show! and in respect to the bands' that appeared on there! to which at one point they was a strike' and the show didn't get aired for numerous weeks because I think of the disbandment of the show's orchestra!! Although I used to love all the quirky themed sets' on there that enhanced and promoted the the bands that were playing!! But it was just silly how many times bands would get banned from temporarily appearing on there as an example like the group Madness'! Of course I bet they never banned Legs & Co' for obvious reasons!! Just as well! I'd a been gutted! Lol!
