The BBC probably borrowed the car from Ford like Euston did with The Sweeney, hence being from the VHK batch. Good spot GC The Saint

A very good list indeed. Having just watched OUT there are half a dozen VHK's in that series alone. A couple of Mk2 Granada's a Capri and a Cortina feature I think.

There were many 'VHK' Fords in many shows during the 1970's and 1980's... In fact there were many 'HK' Fords as that was an Essex registration code.
Having said that there were probably very many 'VHK' and 'HK' vehicles of all makes and descriptions as that just denoted where they were registered when new.
I think Ford were really very wise to the fact that a bit of televisual product placement here and there would play huge dividends.
It appears they were right!!!!
