That one they have just landed on Mars is a belter! That's what I call a car, delivered at about 20,000 mph with a ruddy great parachute and a few rockets for the last bit.

And then it tweeted back to Earth Ford are jumping on the electric bandwagon I see. Looks like there will be a clamour to fit chargers everywhere.

I’ve always had a hankering for an electric milk float. Fit it out with wood panelling, lush carpets, bookshelves - Keith Moon style 😆

Not like this one then? "Past Yer Eyes Express" - a milk float with a V8 slung underneath in place of the motors and batteries. Sam.

It is an interesting technology BS, certainly one worth looking at in greater detail. We have discussed electric cars in this thread >>> Petrol and Diesel Cars Banned by 2030 <<< where I've voiced my view on electric cars. It would seem that article you've linked to appears to confirm my thoughts too. Will the blue gas fuel give similar performance to vehicles I wonder? Would there be a radical change required to combustion engine design? What are the costs and environmental impact on the processing to produce the fuel? They all need to be weighed up to determine what is really a 'green' fuel. Sam.

Charging points everywhere is going to be problem. Petrol stations could be repurposed for hydrogen, you would have thought. Hydrogen is some way behind in the race for new technology, hope it catches up.

Hydrogen is some way behind in the race for new technology, hope it catches up. It's the length of time it takes to fully charge batteries that concerns me. At the moment, it takes less than 10minutes to fill up a car, pay for it. (5 if you don't pay for it - not that I am condoning that)
Some batteries need 4 hours plus to fully charge.
Secondly, I'm a little concerned about leaving that kind of stuff on charge overnight too - unsupervised. I've seen no end of this new battery tech just randomly bursting into flames, exploding, melting - charging this new Batt Tech is also close to witchcraft - as certain batteries are only suited to specifically designed chargers. Then there's the extortionate rates we'll be paying for Electricity, as well as the additional demand on street Power Supplies.
The only real win I can see so far is for the Energy Companies, and whoever wins the contracts to install the infrastructure. (Mates of whoever is transport/enviroment secretary)

"5 if you don't pay for it." Also there's going to be lots of people unplugging the power cords for the hell of it and nicked and damaged cords.
