Any stuff that you watched when it was originally on but if it was on now you wouldn't bother with? Partly down to the fact that there were only three channels and less choice. Maybe I used to watch things because there was nothing else so you did, a bit like thumbing through boring magazines in the dentists waiting room because there's nothing else to look at, see also reading the label on the Domestos bottle while sat on the bog Here's a few of mine The Two Ronnies Love thy Neighbour Bless this House Pot Black Call my Bluff Ask the Family Softly Softly Last of the Summer wine The Generation Game Any others?

You rightly bring up the three channel boredom conundrum. Back in the day you’d simply watch the least worst programme going. I’d have to say that’d be ‘The World around us’ now how good could that series be?

The watching something for the sake of it has always been there and I find it worse now. I have hundreds of channels with nothing on them instead of three. The wife spends 30 mins looking through Netflix and finds nothing.

A few I'd go with are - The Word, great music the rest was shite! - TFI Friday, can't stand Chris Evans! - Hale n Pace, still like it but wouldn't go out my way to see it! - Have I Got News For You, ran out of steam 20 years back! - Match of the Day, don't really care about football these days! - Who Wants to be a Millionaire, gave up on it years ago! - Coronation Street, last watched it around 2003 and thought it was tripe never watched it since! - Family Guy/CSI/NCIS, started off alrightish but the usual US tv thing of flogging it to death with 4 million episodes of rapidly declining quality! - Mrs Brown's Boys, similarly wasn't bad to begin with then became a one trick pony and a bit tedious after a while! - The Comic Strip, with one or two very good exceptions like The Bullshitters, Bad News etc. It was mostly shite! Probably loads more I can add to this but these are a few I can think of right now, as Del says streaming is a pain in the arse too you can literally spend all day scrolling ans not finding anything!

- The Word, great music the rest was shite! I often used to watch this, or tried to watch it, when I came back from the pub on a Friday night in the early 90s. I don't remember it that well as I'd probably had too many jars in the evening to concentrate on it. I think many watched it because of Dani Behr Vi

Some good shouts there DE, CSI and NCIS are very good examples of US tv, as you say not bad at first but went on and on and on. Frasier was another one.
other ones I've just remembered are Are you being served, and Man about the house

American stuff like The Fall Guy, The A Team, The Love Boat, T J Hooker, The Dukes Of Hazzard, etc. Forces TV are showing CHiPs at the moment, it's terrible! The Equalizer is another currently showing that the country would once be glued to.
There was a show on ITV late nights in the 80's called 'The Master' starring Lee Van Cleef as a ninja, I was into all that as a teen, I bought some throwing stars & once chucked one over a road, a motorbike ran over it, there was a load bang but thank God nothing happened. I saw some of it more recently & it was rubbish.
I will watch sitcoms like AYBS, Robin's Nest, Bless This House, etc. if they happen to be on. The Two Ronnies I never really took to, I think of them more as actors than comedians & the sketches tend to be very samey, more often than not based around word confusion.
Spitting Image is quite interesting to rewatch but seems less funny than I remember.

More good shouts Arthur. I think American stuff went through a phase of being exceptionally awful, and the ones listed are great examples. Earlier ones from the 70s weren't bad, and later ones were a bit better, but were dragged on way too long.
