This is on Sky Documentaries now, looks quite interesting about a car movie that never got made, has some footage of the making of the 1966 movie Grand Prix as well.

Just watched this, really quite interesting, has some remaining rushes from the film that that never completed, The Day of the Champion about F1 and a lot of footage of the making of Grand Prix. In one part there is James Garner threatening to punch some local shopkeepers who complaining about loss of business while he was filming the scene where he ends up in the harbour and was freezing to death.

He eventually fell out with the company that made Rockford. I quite liked that show. I love the Rockford Files. A slightly unusual show compared to the other police/detective series of that era. I think considering how many episodes there were, it’s impressive how the quality held up.

Sopranos creator David Chase worked quite extensively on The Rockford's IIRC.
Not really one I've seen and not really much of a desire to search it out but don't think it's bad stuff from what I can remember.

Yes I liked The Rockford Files too, James Garner was good in it and I thought it was one of the better American series, along with Kojak.

Yes I liked The Rockford Files too, James Garner was good in it and I thought it was one of the better American series, along with Kojak. That clip I mentioned in the Steve McQueen movie, Garner was being really un-Garner like as he usually comes off as a nice guy but he really had a touch of the red mist. If that had happened these days the media would have been all over it.
