An amazing find that has just come to my attention is this car that was used in Randall & Hopkirk Deceased episode "Somebody Just Walked Over My Grave".
The car is a 4 litre Vanden Plas Princess Hearse with Dottridge bodywork. It was first registered on December 13th 1961 so would have been 8 years old at the time of filming. Tax ran out in January 1991 with it's last V5 issued on 23rd May 1991 so it has been untouched in 30 years.
Seen here in the episode (Elstree Studios)
The car has been found abandoned in a field and looking extremely sad but surely not beyond restoration. (Photos below courtesy of Mark Osbourne)
I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that seeing these images makes my hair stand on end.

I'd heard a vague rumour a few days ago, that this hearse was still around but not in a good way, but thanks Gene for these never seen (by me) photos. What a shame but yes I wonder what the story is with how it got there too, and can it be saved? With a lot of work maybe and hope it does.
This is a good find and hopefully it makes it back onto the road. If that's not possible even getting it to a condition where it can be a static exhibit or such like will be better than it disappearing.
