I've read this morning that Dave Prowse who played Darth Vader in the Star Wars films has died at the age of 85. By all accounts he was a really nice guy, and very approachable. He also played the Green Cross Code man, a role which he said was his favourite out of all his parts.
RIP Dave.

Sad news. Probably best known for being Darth Vader, but his legacy should be The Green Cross Code Man. How many children's lives did he save by doing that role? RIP

Thanks for helping us 70s kids cross the road properly Of course Vader was the iconic character that defined his career but looking at Dave's IMDB he has 74 credits and often appeared in top TV shows and well known films. RIP Dave

RIP - he had a great innings though eh?
I was never a big star wars fan, so for me it will be the memories of the green cross code! - Wow same age as my old man too, puts things in perspective the older we get!

I remember the robot in it. Very R2-D2 but a year earlier.

RIP Dave.
He had a great physical presence when on screen.
He was in the film version of Callan and Edward Woodward gets the better of him, which I've always thought rather unlikely!
