Yep. Defo a Princess. You can see the roofline at the back too.

I thought the most interesting period in the British Leyland story was the early period when it was formed from the merger of BMC, or BMH as it had become and Leyland, which by then incorporated Rover and Triumph, between 1968 and about 1971/2.
One of the ongoing projects at the time was a replacement Mini, which, as it turned out, didn't happen. There were several attempts, the most advanced was the 9X, which Issigonis was involved in, this was slightly smaller than a Mini, and had a new alloy engine and hatchback rear door. One running prototype was made, which still exists.
The other two were the Ant project, also called the Barrel car, which was just a slightly enlarged and simplified version of the Mini, and a single prototype of an aerodynamic design by Pininfarina, which was quickly discarded.
None were proceeded with, apart from bits of a restyle which led to the Clubman version, and the car continued largely unchanged through the British Leyland period.

There's a really good in house Leyland training film on YouTube called British Leyland the quality connection, it was made in either late 76/early 77 and it's excellent. A lot of faces in it, George A Cooper, John Comer, John Suchet, Trevor Bannister, Frank Windsor, Arthur from On the Buses, Denzel from Only Fools and Madeline Smith.
It shows the problems with quality control and it's a very honest piece of work.

Excellent for a game of Spot The Sweeney Face or even Spot The Sweeney Location (The opening scenes with Frank Windsor were done in Freston Road near the school seen in 'Big Brother' when Jack & George question Angela.) I thought I potentially saw some Sweeney locations. The place where the railway bridge is looks familiar.

I thought I potentially saw some Sweeney locations. The place where the railway bridge is looks familiar. I think that that location appears in the series 2 episode 'Big Brother' when the initial snatch occurs pre-credits... Whether I am right or wrong I couldn't possibly say but it does look very similar!!!
