The engines were carried over, but a new 5 speed box was used and the suspension was changed.

Nice find Art. I've been watching some episodes or AYBS recently so was interested to see this.

I sat and watched this documentary of The Sweet and Brian Connolly this evening:
Warning: there is some use of strong language in places but not excessive.
It was an interesting watch but very sad to see the effects that alcohol had taken on Brian Connolly. He was only 51 years old when he died but as could be seen in the documentary the impact on him in his final year or so was very severe.
Sam.

The worst bit is seeing those idiots at Butlins laughing at Brian, what a fall from grace. I think this was first shown on channel 4 as I remember watching it & thinking how sad it was.

I remember it from years ago and it was sad for Brian how he had to still be on the circuit while clearly ill. Interesting documentary.

I also remember it from when it was originally broadcast before he passed away so did the search for it on YT.
I recall being shocked at the time about how bad he was particularly as he was barely 50 years old but as stated in the documentary he suffered thirteen heart attacks in one day so it was remarkable that he actually survived albeit for not long thereafter.
Certainly a sad end.

That was one of the things that stuck out for me when I first saw it. That and the fan backstage at the end trying to keep Brian's spirits up by telling him he was still the best. Hate to say it, but Andy comes across as a little on the smug side in this documentary.

Also remember an appearance by Brian on Night Network, the late night music show on ITV. In retrospect I don't think he should've been making public appearances like that but he must've had a living to earn.
