Here's something that might interest the techies, a showreel which is more like a documentary from 1980 from Molinare. They were a major producer of TV commercials and pop videos and the reel features clips from Gary Numan, Suzi Quatro, The Rezillos and Blondie. I believe Molinare are still around. Great find Nightfly. Thanks for posting.
Molinare do quite a bit for gaming - the motion capture and any live action stuff. I wasn't aware they had been around since 1973 - so possibly, and very easily one of the first companies to get into the Music Video industry. Their setup is second to none.

I found this footage of The City Of Liverpool filmed in the late 1890's. It gives a fascinating glimpse of life at the time.

Good stuff Charles, it was like when I watched Violent Playground on TPTV and imagined the 4-5 redevelopments and demolition which have occurred in the city over the years some good some bad. Interesting to see and thanks for posting.

Thanks Dirty. I was surprised that I hadn't come across that footage before now. I thought it was very good, and that it might be of interest to some people from other parts of the country.
Charles.

Was this really the 1890s?
The first colour process to get patented was in 1899, but wasn't properly used for a few years after. It used B&W film and then projected using filters to "tint" the colour. It was called "Kinemacolor".
Assuming someones had a go at adding the colour digitally?

I've very much looking forward to watching this ITV "Self made" documentary on Michael Caine made in 1969. I saw a photo still from it this morning where Michael was signing autographs for local kids in the area he grew up in. I then looked on YouTube to find it. I'm not aware if its been put up before on the forum.

I turned the telly on this morning to see if there was anything new on YouTube, and noticed this brief video about a new documentary on 'On The Buses' which is due to be shown very soon. It only lasts just over eight minutes if anyone's interested in viewing it.
Its amazing though, how phenomenally successful the series still is.

This one is quite interesting, if a bit heavy going in places. It's about how viewing habits changed in the 15 years since Channel Four arrived. It was made in 1998 when most people hadn't discovered satellite/cable TV or the internet. Features a young lad who reckons the internet will be the next big thing and who ensures he changes his aspect ratio settings on his set before watching a film.

Hope that lad invested in internet development back then !
