I have seen that interview before, a good one as Dennis is more open & relaxed with a female talking to him. Vanessa Feltz is surprisingly attractive here & to her credit she listens a lot & doesn't interrupt too much as is the norm with interviews today.

I enjoyed watching this tribute to ITVs Saturday 'World Of Sport' programme from the Networks glory days.

A few F1 drivers seem to get a taste for WDC, Kimi has probably been the most successful recently and Kubica wasn't that bad either until that horrific accident which he's never really recovered from. I know drivers in the 60's/70's competed more in different disciplines including bikes too but few seem to cross into F1 these days which tends to be more of a closed shop with drivers nutured in academies until they're ready/or not!
Shame the likes of Colin McRae or Valentino Rossi never had a crack at F1 even if it was an odd race deputising for someone.

I am sure this will be of interest to a few 4:3tv members but in particular to those who have attended Meets in Newcastle. A place that needs no introduction and one that evokes special memories for a lot of us. The Tyne Bridge, here under construction in 1928.

Interesting Gene Co-incidentally, a bridge further up the coast spanning the River Tweed was opened the same year by the Prince Of Wales. In addition, The Likely Lads visited both

Came across the first 4 episodes of this BBC documentary series from 1980. Directed by Rex Bloomstein it was shown in 8 40 min parts. Described by Halliwells tv guide as a 'masterly impression of life in a chronically overcrowded jail'.

I went onto YouTube before to see If could find any interviews with certain stars from Elstree studios Events. I didn't come across any, so I'm sure they must understandably protect their video footage.
I did find a few old Pathe' Newsreel videos from the 60's of Variety Club events at Battersea funfair which must have been for charity. Everyone always seems to look so very happy in these 60s videos compared to what it would be like today.
