I came across an article about the popularity of Only Fools And Horses in the Former Yugoslavia, then discovered that the show has been remade a few times in various countries. There was a Slovian version made in 2008/9 with John Sullivan's involvement named 'Brat Bratu' ( 'Brother To Brother' ), it proved unpopular & lasted just one series. The Netherlands had 'Wat Schuift 't' ( 'What's It Worth?' ) in 1995, also lasting one series only. Portugal's version was 'O Fura Vidas' ( a local expression for Del Boy types ). America has attempted to remake it with little success, there's a clip of 'King Of Van Nuys' on youtube, which is a supposed US version of the show though it's hard to tell. Here's some clips of the different versions- If you want to see something really odd check out the video below, a bizarre hour long discussion of ONE episode between UK & US vloggers. It needs to be seen to be believed

A fantastic find Arthur BBC paid Blue Peter presenters well though didn't they? TVR Tuscan isn't it? I had a look through the yt comments Steve, apparently it's a Marcos 1800 GT & it belonged to Noakes according to enthusiasts. Other famous owners include Rod Stewart, Simon Park, composer of 'Eye Level', better known as the theme tune to Van Der Valk & Barry Crocker the guy who sang the theme tune to 'Neighbours'! marcossportscarenthusiasts.yuku.com/reply/346/Marcos-owned-by-the-Famous#.WGb-1bkiXkcThere's an interview with Peter Purves I read where he claims that he was poorly paid by the BBC but Yorkshireman Noakes was 'careful' with his money.

That was a nice surprise seeing John Thaw presenting the cheque. I wasn't expecting that. He looked really fit and well. That was quite a sum for Peggy to win. Hope she enjoyed it. That must have been one of the last big wins on the pools before the Lottery started. Which as I remember well, was in November 1994. I much preferred the pools to the Lottery myself. Gambling seems to have got a bit out of hand since the Lottery came in. Charles.
