Yes I was thinking about watching 'Threads' again a few days ago, that & 'Survivors'. I don't think I'll bother
The director of Threads wrote & directed this QED documentary which covers a lot of the same ground-
Thanks for posting.
I hadn't seen this before. Even some 35years on, it's pretty harrowing stuff.
A mate worked on "Threads" when it was shot in Sheffield in 1984 - at the time he was part of the CND movement - possibly still is. Not sure if he's amongst the crowd outside Sheffield Council House.
I shot an advert in Sheffield Council House in 2013, working overnight - so went for a wander. The caretaker there told me that they still have the bunker under the building. Sadly I wasn't allowed to go and see.
Forgot to say thanks for the link to this. I'm going to give this a spin.

Interesting clip on the strange story of forgotten Grimsby comic actor Freddie Frinton, today unknown in the UK but he is still a household name in Germany, even appearing on a postage stamp. A short tv film he appeared in called 'Dinner For One' has been shown every New Year's Eve since the 1960's on German tv and, according to youtube comments, every New Year's Eve in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Australia & South Africa.
Apparently it's the 'most popular show in tv history' but has never been shown in the UK.

Good story, Art. I wonder how many more Brits are famous on the continent and not here.

Yes heard about Michael Robinson this morning too glad it wasn't Covid as Spain's been hit bad with it. He features in the opening titles of Alan Bleasdale's Scully too at 0.26. RIP Michael.

I was browsing through YouTube yesterday and noticed this video of Tim Healy singing at some gig. He doesn't do a bad job of the song in my opinion.
All of the Auf Wiedersehen cast except Timothy Spall reunited last January for a charity gig in Newcastle.
