John Thaw is very good. In the original photo I didn't get many only about 6 but when I read the names i knew who most were. I don't think they are poor likenesses its just the angle of some of the heads made it a bit trickier. Good fun though. The worst waxworks at Yarmouth had me laughing. All were bad but The Beatles and Michael Jackson were particularly poor Reminds me of that Jesus painting restoration on the news a few years back

I saw this article yesterday about Madame Tussauds in London reopening & was struck by how much more accurate the waxworks are. There doesn't seem to be much point in having a display of lifelike waxworks in this age, I'm sure you could get a 3D printer to create them with much greater accuracy than a sculptor ever could. Isn't the point of a sculpture or portrait that it gives an impression of a person? The problem with waxworks is that they're not intended to be works of art, so the better the likeness the less interesting they become.
