Actor Maurice Roeves - known for playing villains and hard men - has died at the age of 83. In a career spanning six decades, he acted in hundreds of TV shows and films including The Sweeney, Star Trek, The Eagle Has Landed and Tutti Frutti One of Scotland's finest hard-men RIP

Very sad news. Maurice did indeed consider himself a Scotsman, but was in fact born in Sunderland. A good actor with notable appearances in some quality stuff. I last saw him in an episode of Spender.
RIP Maurice.

Sad news, I also remember him playing the part of a property developer in an episode of The New Statesman in the early 90s.
RIP Maurice Roeves

Very sad news and Maurice had been in so many thing's I've watched and mostly enjoyed over the years too. Not really enough to simply say RIP Maurice, but thanks very much for your contributions to film and TV that I have enjoyed over the years a distinctive and versatile actor.

RIP Maurice.
One of his more surprising credits is an episode of Magnum PI.

That really is a long and successful career. Maurice's portrayal of the bad guy in The Sweeney episode Big Brother, really had a menacing undercurrent to it and was very believable.
RIP Maurice
